Ever since the Dutch established a trading point in 1634, the island of Curacao has had a rich international trading tradition. Today Curaçao serves as a connecting point to Latin America and the Caribbean for North American and European companies. The capital of Curaçao, Willemstad, has a unique architecture and was recently added to the World Heritage list of UNESCO. Apart from its rich cultural and historical heritage, the island has all the facilities necessary to accommodate international investors and tourists. Curaçao 's status as an "Overseas Community and Territory" of the European Union (EU) provides an opportunity for export to the EU. Exports are exempt from import duties, quantity restrictions or agricultural levies subject to certain rules.

Curacao International Airport located in Curacao, Netherlands Antilles (Dutch Caribbean) is a modern international airport, equipped for all types of aircraft. Curacao International airport is an airport with an excellent reputation for efficiency, comfort, safety and security. With its strategic position between the Americas, its frequent flights to and from Europe, North and South America, Curacao, is pre-eminently suitable for new industries to invest and extend as well as for transshipment of goods and travel between Europe, the Caribbean and the American continents.
COMPANY PROFILE
On August 1, 2003 Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP), an international consortium started a 30-year concession agreement to develop and operate the Curaçao International Airport in the Netherlands Antilles. Under this concession agreement CAP has taken responsibility for developing and operating the airport. Since January 29, 2009 the consortium is led by A-Port S.A. It includes also Janssen de Jong.
A-Port S.A. is a Brazilian company, formed in 2007 with the objective to develop, invest, manage and operate airports in Latin America and the Caribbean. A-Port combines the airport management excellence of Unique (Flughafen Zurich AG), the experience in the operation and management of airports in Latin America of Gestion e Ingeniera IDC S.A. (through the strategic alliance Unique/IDC) and the infrastructure development, investment, financing and asset management expertise of Camargo Correa Investimentos em Infra-Estrutura S.A.
Janssen de Jong Caribbean Airport Constructors N.V. is a corporation 100% owned by Janssen de Jong Groep N.V. The group has over fifty years experience in the implementation of infrastructure and civil construction projects in the Netherlands and the Caribbean, including airports in Curaçao, St. Maarten, Bonaire and Saba.
The airport is located at the north coast of Curaçao, only a few miles from the capital Willemstad. The island’s/airport’s location, about 40 miles north of Venezuela offers strategic convenience for transshipment/storage of goods and fuel supply and transit services for trans-Atlantic flights to and from the Caribbean and Latin American market. The new airport terminal is operational since July 1, 2006. It is based on an initial capacity of 1.6 Mio passengers per year, expandable to 2.5 Mio passengers per year.

Develop and operate the Curacao airport to become the best airport in the Caribbean region. Curaçao will be the gateway and passenger / cargo hub for the southern Caribbean region with modern facilities and a capacity of 1.6 million passengers per year, expandable to 2.5 million passengers per year, providing quality service in accordance with IATA Level of service standards 'C'.

CAP's main purpose of existence is:
- To operate the Curaçao International Airport in the Netherlands Antilles by providing quality airport services with modern facilities required for international airway transfer of passengers and goods.
- To design and construct a new passenger terminal with a capacity of eventually 2.5 million passengers per year in accordance with IATA Level of service standards 'C'.
- To develop and transform the existing Curaçao International Airport as a gateway and passenger/cargo hub for the southern Caribbean region.
- To operate all airport facilities in a safe, environmentally responsible, competitive manner under continuous improvement criteria in all our work processes.
- To attract, develop and retain highly qualified, committed and motivated people.
- To have an ethical commitment towards our people, partners, stakeholders, suppliers, clients, institutions and the community of Curaçao.
